- EVALUATE YOUR BOWEL AND BLADDER CONTROL IMMEDIATELY

I often ask my clients to perform a simple sensory check. Can you feel the toilet paper when you wipe? Do your clothes feel different against your skin in that specific "saddle" region compared to your arms or chest? IF that area feels numb or "dead," those nerves are under extreme distress. Routine sciatica usually involves pain or numbness down the back of one leg, BUT it rarely affects the groin area unless there is a significant neurological compromise. - MONITOR FOR PROGRESSIVE MOTOR WEAKNESS OR "FOOT DROP"
It is one thing to have pain; it is a completely different thing to have a leg that simply WILL NOT work. I want you to pay close attention to how you are walking. Are you tripping over your own feet? Is one foot "slapping" the ground because you cannot hold it up? This is called "Foot Drop," and it is a sign that the motor nerves — the ones that tell your muscles to move — are being shut down.
IF you try to stand on your tiptoes or walk on your heels and you find that one side is significantly weaker than the other, you are dealing with a red flag. While some weakness is common with sciatica, "progressive" weakness is the real concern. IF you feel like you are getting weaker by the hour or by the day, your body is telling you that the pressure on the nerve is increasing.
